Let's talk about anti-trends in design. Our lead designer Tanya Bondaruk explained the difficulty in simple words.😉
✔️The definite anti-trends of this year are realism and classic flat illustrations. At some point, they just flooded the market and ceased to be interesting. They were quickly replaced by symbolism and minimalism.
✔️This year sketches, various kinds of "scribbles" and drawn fonts came into trend. Therefore, we suspect that this trend will continue to occur. In particular, against the background of the development of anti-design in design. The rebellion of our days includes drawn fonts, asymmetry, and controlled chaos in the design.
✔️The most striking anti-trend in advertising campaigns is brand praise. Empty words that you will save the world, and people, and bring everyone absolute happiness and peace will only push away the consumer, who is already tired of impositions.
✔️It is also worth abandoning free typical stock photos that no one is interested in for a long time. They can be replaced with non-trivial photo shoots or other unique content.
✔️Despite the fact that saturated mono-colors are now more relevant than ever, complex gradients are gaining popularity.
✔️The excess of colors has also faded into the background. So feel free to include it in the list of anti-trends.
✔️Another anti-trend is a complex concept. No one wants to look at something for a long time to understand it. On the contrary, it is worth focusing on ease of perception and conciseness.
✔️Now is definitely not the time for modest typography. Among the predicted trends, we can highlight the possible replacement of logos with capital letters. This trend has been popular for many years and it will definitely not leave the market. But this is not the most modern solution for a long time.
✔️And finally - let's talk about the glitch effect, which has been actively filling the market in recent years. It is likely that fatigue from it will lead to a drop in interest and a gradual abandonment of it.
What will still be relevant in 2023?
🤔✨Aesthetics of the 2000s, vintage combined with futurism, unexpected color combinations, playful fonts and controlled chaos.
